Revealed in 2019 and hitting the market later the same year, the XT6 is the most dated model in Cadillac’s premium SUV lineup. It’s in dire need of an update and, as it happens, it has received a mid-cycle refresh in China. Unveiled at Auto Guangzhou 2024, the three-row crossover gets minor design tweaks – so minor, they won’t be able to hide the XT6’s aging status.
2025 Cadillac XT6
- Base MSRP
- $49,195
- Base Trim Drivetrain
- Front-Wheel Drive
- Base Trim Horsepower
- 235 HP @5000 RPM
- Base Trim Torque
- 258 lb.-ft. @ 1500 RPM
The facelifted XT6 comes in three variants in China, with the base model retaining the outgoing model’s design. However, the succeeding variants look different with blacked-out trims and a fresh set of Carbon Gray multi-spoke alloy wheels. They also get the monochrome Cadillac emblem to complement the darker theme.
Substantial Cabin Updates
Probably the biggest update in the enhanced XT6 is the seating configuration, at least in the People’s Republic. It still has three rows, but now only accommodates six passengers (instead of seven) in a 2+2+2 configuration across all trim levels. The second-row captain’s seats come with six-way adjustable headrests, two-section armrests, and electric adjustment with a massage function.

Moreover, the first and second rows both have ventilated and heated functions, while the screen at the center of the dash is now bigger at 10 inches. Other key features in the updated XT6 include a 12.3-inch digital cluster with color head-up display, 22 active safety functions, RTD active suspension, twin-clutch vector four-wheel-drive system, Night Vision system, 360-degree parking assistance, vibrating seat for enhanced safety, Opus leather material on seats and interior panels, and Bose Performance sound system with 14 speakers.
Still The Same Under The Hood
Cadillac didn’t update the XT6’s power plant for this mid-cycle refresh in China. It’s still powered by the 48V mild hybrid turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine that’s endemic to this market, producing up to 233 horsepower and 258 lb-ft of torque. There isn’t a V6 option on this side of the world, but we expect a different powertrain configuration once this updated version reaches the US.

Speaking of reaching America, given that Cadillac is already offering the 2025 XT6, we’ll likely see the US-spec XT6 in the middle of next year as a 2026 model year. That would be perfect timing, however, as its supposed electric version, the Cadillac Vistiq, will also be entering the automaker’s lineup as a 2026 model, with a starting price of under $80,000.
