BOONE COUNTY, Ind. (WLFI) — Monday is the day we’ve all been waiting for. The total solar eclipse. When daytime turns into night for about four minutes.
Eclipse events kicked off over the weekend.
In Lebanon, it was an everything 80s party with a roller skating party at Memory Hall, a treasure hunt, a Pretty in Pink Party at Merle Norman, a breakfast club at Klooz Brew, and a back to the future Movie night at the Boone county distillery, plus many more.
News 18 spoke with Executive Director of the Boone County Convention Bureau, Joe LePage who was excited to talk about the events taking place Monday.
“We have called it our solar eclipse festival. We started on Friday night and have been going throughout the entire weekend. We are very excited to see it all kickoff around 11 a.m.,” said LePage. “We have something for everyone all throughout our community. From north to south, east and west. From State Route 39 and 52 will all have watch parties.”
News 18 also spoke with Executive Director of Discover Boone County, Allyson Gutwein.
“It’s going to be a fantastic day. Here in Lebanon, we have activities for the whole family. These events are great because this is going to be a once in a lifetime experience for many,” said Gutwein.
