Want to turn your whole wall into a TV screen or a gaming monitor? Now you can!
Over the last few years, turning your living room into a movie theater has become a thing, and ViewSonic wants to make that easier with a new cinematic-quality projector.
The company announced the LX700-4K RGB projector in a press release on Thursday, claiming it as “the world’s first ceiling-mounted home projector with RGB laser technology.” The RGB laser in this projector is able to achieve complete coverage of the BT.2020 color gamut, according to the company.
The color capabilities ViewSonic claims this projector has are impressive, but even more so is the size of the projection—up to 300 inches. It also has a 1.6X optical zoom that gives you range flexibility, and it projects in 4K resolution with HDR/HLG support. In theory, that means you should be able to have crisp, clear images, even when at the full projection size, and regardless of the scenes displayed.
It has 4 corner-adjustment so you can ensure alignment, and it features HDMI eARC (Enhanced Audio Return Channel) so you can connect it to external audio equipment. It’s also compatible with gaming consoles like Xbox and PlayStation, has a 240Hz refresh rate, and “microsecond-level response time.” Call of Duty on a 300-inch screen? Yes, please!
Pricing on the ViewSonic LX700-4K RGB is not available on the company’s website. However, you can make a sales inquiry on the product page on ViewSonic’s website. For reference, the LX700-4K UHD appears to have sold for around $1600.
