These solar backpacks make it easier to explore the outdoors without leaving behind your tech.
BLUETTI is changing the game for keeping our tech-powered up outdoors with the launch of its Handsfree Backpack Series. Released on October 15, these backpacks are designed with adventurers, photographers, and digital nomads in mind, making it easy to charge devices no matter where they end up.
The series includes two models: Handsfree 1 and Handsfree 2. Handsfree 1 features a 42L backpack with a 300W portable power station, perfect for trips lasting 1-3 days. Handsfree 2, the more robust option, offers a 60L backpack paired with a 700W power station, catering to longer trips up to 5 days. Each backpack comes with organized compartments and MOLLE straps to make sure your gear stays organized and your devices charged while you move.
The standout feature is the hands-free charging capability. You can charge multiple devices simultaneously with its five ports, including AC, Type-C, and USB-A. The side-access charging port allows easy device connection without taking the backpack off. There’s even an app to monitor the charging process in real time, similar to BLUETTI’s home battery backup system.
Even with all the advanced technology packed inside, the Handsfree backpacks are impressively slim, with a power station about as thin as a smartphone—much sleeker than typical portable chargers. Charging is flexible too, allowing you to recharge using mains power, a vehicle, a battery, or even solar panels. With Turbocharging, you can hit 80 percent capacity in just 45 minutes and get a full charge in under an hour and a half. For more remote adventures, extra solar panels can boost the battery life by up to 30 percent. These power stations are said to offer over 4,000 charging cycles, so they should last up to 10 years.
Starting at $299 for Handsfree 1 and $399 for Handsfree 2, these backpacks are available now on the BLUETTI website and Amazon. Special early-bird pricing, including solar panel combos, is available until November 15.
