Writing emails in Proton Mail is about to get a whole lot easier.
Most of us spend a lot of time writing emails everyday, but Proton wants to make that whole process easier.
The problem with writing emails—especially business emails—is finding the right tone and including the right information. It can be time consuming, but Proton just announced Proton Scribe in Proton Mail to help writing emails go a little faster. Proton Scribe is free with Proton Visionary and Lifetime plans, but you’ll need to pay extra to use it (after a 14-day free trial).
Proton Scribe is built into the Proton Mail composer and has several options that make writing and editing emails easier. For example, there are Shorten and Proofread modes to tighten your writing up and make sure it’s grammatically correct. There’s also a Formalize option that can improve the tone of your message if you need a more formal approach. Or, if you want to write an email from scratch in Poton Scribe, you can also type a text prompt to begin the process.
Proton assures, “As a composition tool, Scribe does not train on your inbox data — it cannot because of Proton Mail’s zero-access encryption. Scribe relies on open source code and models, and is itself open source and therefore available for independent security and privacy audits.” Your emails are still not logged, either, even when you’re using Proton Scribe.
Proton Scribe is available to try starting today. If you’re a Mail Essentials, Mail Professional, or Proton Business Suite subscriber, you’ll have 14 days to decide if you want to pay the $3 per month additional fee to continue using the feature.
