This new business laptop with onboard security should have enough power to manage AI activities and anything else you throw at it.
As we push further into AI, the newest crop of laptop computers all seem to come with built-in AI capabilities, and this new Dynabook laptop is no different in that aspect.
Dynabook announced the 14-inch Portégé x40-M laptop in a press release sent to Lifewire. The X40-M will come equipped with Intel Core Ultra processors, Intel Arc graphics, and a backlit full-sized keyboard. It will also have Microsoft’s Copilot AI baked into the Windows 11 Pro operating system, including a dedicated Copilot key on the keyboard.
The new laptop features an aluminum alloy chassis and a 16:19 WUXGA display, with an available touch option and a large ClickPad. There are also dedicated conferencing hotkeys or Microsoft Teams and Zoom.
Along with the Copilot AI, the Portégé X40-M also has AI noise reduction and an AI-enhanced 5MP webcam to help with things like background blur, eye contact, and face-framing. There’s even AI in the battery management system “for optimized performance and extended usage.”
One thing that sets the Dynabook Portégé X40-M apart is built-in security. “It includes Trusted Platform Module (dTPM) 2.0, advanced encryption, and optional face and fingerprint biometric scanners and smart card readers. These measures ensure that both personal and corporate data remain secure, providing peace of mind for users handling sensitive information,” according to the press release.
The Dynabook Portégé X40-M is available to order today from authorized Dynabook partners and starts at $1,499.
