The addition of AT&T network capabilities makes it possible for Oracle Cloud customers to gather near real-time data from internet-connected devices in the field.
For enterprises with IoT devices, staying connected to those devices is essential, and now Oracle is partnering with AT&T to provide that connectivity.
In a press release on the Oracle website on Monday, the company announced that it’s adding AT&T IoT connectivity and network APIs to its Enterprise Communications Platform (ECP). The move means that Oracle’s customers will be able to connect to and manage devices in the Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI).
The availability of AT&T IoT connectivity is available to Oracle customers in the US and “is providing a foundation for new industry applications—from consumer to industrial business—delivering high-performing, reliable connectivity enabling innovation and new services, such as a turnkey, communications-enabled restaurant operation, automated utility grid management, or enriched telehealth capabilities,” according to the press release.
“Our mission has always been to help improve the way the world communicates, and with ECP supported by AT&T and FirstNet, we’re taking a massive step toward that vision,” said Andrew Morawski, executive vice president and general manager, Oracle Communications. “Together, we can help organizations across industries benefit from the full potential of 5G, by building a new generation of vertical applications offering endless opportunities to innovate.”
