Google’s redesigned it’s watch to make it easier to see and last longer.
People wanted a bigger Pixel Watch, Google listened.
In the Made by Google event on Tuesday, Google confirmed the new Google Pixel Watch 3 and shared some of the details about the upcoming device. Top of the list is the addition of a new size. Now, there is not only a 41 mm version but also a 45 mm version. And the bezel on the watch face has been reduced to give you more screen real estate, and the brightness has been increased to 2,000 nits to make it easier to see your information.
Of course, the Watch 3 has a faster processor, and Google is including Ultra -Wideband, so you can find your Watch 3 with the company’s Find My Device network.
Another improvement is a slightly larger battery, which includes a Battery Saver mode that will stretch the life of your new Pixel Watch 3 to 36 hours. You can still only expect to achieve about 24 hours when using the standby battery and the Always on Display, though.
On the software side, it’s no surprise that the Pixel Watch 3 is getting more Gemini AI features, including the ability to control your smart home from your watch. When paired with Google Home, you’ll be able to control lights, the Nest Thermostat, and other Matter devices.
The Google Pixel Watch 3 is available for preorder today, with new devices shipping September 10. You can expect to pay $350 for the 41mm Pixel Watch 3 or $400 for the 45mm Pixel Watch 3.
