Chrysler only has one model on sale right now – the Pacifica – two if you’ll count the plug-in hybrid model separately. The American marque, however, is currently working on electric vehicles to fill its lineup in the next few years, and one of them is an electric minivan. In an interview with Green Car Reports, Christine Feuell, Chrysler’s CEO, said that this minivan will continue to be called the Pacifica, along with some information about what to expect about the upcoming EV and a few hints on design identity.
“There’s so much equity in the market, consumers have a favorable opinion about Pacifica and very high awareness. I see no reason at this point to change the name.”

Beating The VW ID. Buzz In One Aspect
Feuell told Green Car Reports that it is currently working on beating the VW ID. Buzz in one key area. The first electric minivan, which started hitting showrooms recently, needs to have its seats removed in case you need an open space to haul cargo instead. The Pacifica EV, however, will be different, thanks to Chrysler’s iconic Stow ‘N Go feature that allows the seats to fold flat onto the floor.

This is not good news if you’re in the market for one.
The company hasn’t completed its design, though, with those in charge already setting the stage to make it happen. According to the report, one of the things Chrysler is looking at is the possibility of the second row seats to be folded into some sort of storage underneath the front seats. There’s also the possibility of outboard seating positions with rails, allowing them to slide in place.
Not Based On The Airflow Concept
Feuell also shared with the EV-focused publication that the Pacifica EV’s design will not be based on the Airflow concept from 2022. Instead, it will be taking design cues from the Halcyon concept that Chrysler introduced earlier this year, underpinned by Stellantis’ STLA Large platform. Further details are scarce, though, but a glance at the Halcyon will tell you that it should be quite sleek and futuristic.

One impossible-to-miss change characterizes the new addition to the Pacifica minivan lineup.
We’ll get a first look at this upcoming design identity in 2026, the year Feuell confirmed that a restyled version of the current Pacifica will be introduced. The automaker has confirmed before that it will keep the Pacifica “through the end of the decade,” so this timeline checks out. Meanwhile, an Airflow-based electric crossover will predate the Pacifica EV, to be introduced next year.
