This cloud drive solution promises to keep businesses’ data safe while also offering collaboration and integration with other essential business tools.
Proton, the Swiss company known for the privacy-first Proton Browser, has been branching out quite a bit of late. Now, it’s expanding its business-level offerings with new Drive capabilities.
In a press release sent to Lifewire, Proton announced the availability of the new Proton Drive for Business. The solution includes file storage, file sharing, and collaboration features for organizations, but the more important feature is security.
Proton Drive for business will feature “unparalleled security and privacy to businesses of all sizes, with end-to-end encryption, ensuring that all files are accessible only to authorized users, even in the event of a breach,” according to the press release.
It also happens to be ISO 27001-certified, which means it has been independently verified to meet the ISO standards for information security management systems. Proton Drive for Business is also GDPR- and HIPAA-compliant and includes the benefits of Proton’s secure ecosystem.
Collaboration also plays a big part in Proton Drive for Business. You’ll be able to collaborate in real-time with your team members, including editing, commenting, and viewing version history, which is encrypted and complies with data protection regulations. Flexible file sharing, and cross-platform access are also included.
There are several subscription levels for Proton Drive for Business, including Drive Professional, which includes 1 TB of storage per user for $5.99 per user per month. Proton Business Suite is $12.99 per user per month, offers the same 1TB of storage per user, and adds Proton Mail, calendar, VPN, and password management. And Proton Enterprise, which is “custom priced,” includes those benefits, priority support, and extensive customization.
