A smart ring is one way to keep track of certain health markers without requiring that you have your phone on you all the time.
Smart rings seem to be quickly becoming the preferred tracking device, and now you can get one directly from Verizon.
In a press release sent to Lifewire, Ultrahuman announced a new partnership with Verizon to provide the Ultrahuman Ring AIR to Verizon customers. The Ring AIR is equipped with a PPG sensor that can track vital statistics like your heart rate, blood oxygen level, sleep, movement, and more.
The Ring AIR contains a 6-axis motion sensor that can more accurately track your movement, and it has a temperature sensor. According to Ultrahuman, it’s made from “fighter jet grade titanium” and is reinforced with Tungsten, which means it should be able to withstand whatever punishment you put it through. Ultrahuman also says the Ring AIR has a 6-day battery life.
On the software side, you can get customized alerts designed to “help you make better choices in real-time.” The Ultrahuman App also has a feature called PowerPlugs that lets you download plug-ins specific to what you want to track. For example, if you’re interested in monitoring your caffeine intake, there’s the Caffeine Window PowerPlug. Note, however, that not all PowerPlugs are free; some require a subscription fee.
The Ultrahuman Ring AIR is now available at Verizon for $350. If you’re not sure what size Ring AIR you may need, you can order the Sizing Kit for $6.
