- The 2025 Lexus GX reaches dealerships in early 2025
- New for 2025, the Lexus Memory System has been made standard on all models while Overtrail models receive a standard lift kit
- Pricing starts at $65,285, including destination
The Lexus GX was redesigned for 2024, so for the body-on-frame SUV’s second year on the market, there are few new features.
The 2025 GX is due at dealerships early next year with a starting price of $65,285, including destination. This represents an increase of $1,035 over the previous year.
The price applies to the GX 550 Premium base model. Five other models are available, offering additional standard equipment. These include the GX 550 Premium+, GX 550 Luxury, GX 550 Luxury+, GX 550 Overtrail, and GX 550 Overtrail+.
The Overtrail and Overtrail+ are the most capable for off-roading, and for 2025 they come standard with a one-inch suspension lift kit, increasing ground clearance to 9.84 inches. Another change for 2025 is the addition of a power tilt-and-telescopic steering column and a Lexus Memory System for the driver seat, outer mirrors, and steering column on all models.

There is still only one powertrain across the GX lineup: a twin-turbocharged 3.4-liter V-6 rated at 349 hp. Lexus has previously confirmed that a hybrid powertrain will be available for the rugged midsize SUV, though its timing remains uncertain.
The GX’s V-6 is paired with a 10-speed automatic transmission and a full-time four-wheel-drive system featuring a 2-speed transfer case and a Torsen limited-slip center differential as standard. The Overtrail models add an electronically controlled locking rear differential to provide extra traction when needed. The quoted towing capacity is 9,063 pounds for most models and 9,096 pounds for the Overtrail variants, which include a standard tow hitch receiver.

The Overtrail models also come standard with the Electronic Kinetic Dynamic Suspension System (E-KDSS), which can unlock the front and rear stabilizer bars to enhance articulation for the standard 18-inch wheels with 33-inch tires.
The Overtrail models further benefit from a crawl function and offer approach, departure, and breakover angles of up to 26, 24, and 21 degrees, respectively. They also feature a Multi-Terrain Select off-road drive mode selector and a Multi-Terrain Monitor that uses cameras to display ground-level views under and around the vehicle.

Even in its base form, the GX comes well-equipped. The GX 550 Premium includes standard luxuries like heated and ventilated front seats, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, a 10-speaker audio system (with a 21-speaker Mark Levinson system available), a wireless smartphone charger, a sunroof, LED headlights, 20-inch wheels, and running boards. A 12.3-inch digital gauge cluster, 14.0-inch infotainment screen, and wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are also standard. Buyers can choose between seven seats or six seats with second-row captain’s chairs. A head-up display is available as well.
The latest GX is related to the Toyota Land Cruiser, which is already at dealerships in its 2025 form. The 2025 Land Cruiser is priced from $57,900, including destination.
