We know that the BMW M3 Touring is a brilliant car, but it remains forbidden fruit until the US proves its love for wagons by buying the M5 Touring. However, American wagon lovers will have another model to be jealous of, with BMW officially teasing a hotter M3 CS Touring. Initially entering the rumor mill in 2023 with a 2025 arrival, the hotly anticipated M3 CS Touring appears to be arriving right on schedule.
Posted on BMW’s social media channels, the M3 CS Touring, albeit unnamed by the automaker, came with a caption that says, “Fast is about to meet faster.” We also love how BMW called it “The Ultimate One Car Solution” in one of its tags, referring to this car’s capability to do (very quick) grocery runs and school errands after a stint at a racetrack.
Go-Faster, Long-Roof Bimmer
Despite several sightings while testing at the Nürburgring, official information about the upcoming M3 CS Touring is scarce. However, a quick glance at the M3 CS and M4 CS should give us an idea of what to expect from the go-faster, long-roof Bimmer. Like its sedan and coupe counterparts, the M3 CS Touring will likely arrive with 543 horsepower and 479 lb-ft of torque from the twin-turbo 3.0L S58 inline-six.
As far as the body is concerned, the M3 CS Touring is getting a few tweaks up front to mimic its CS siblings. The shadowy teasers effectively hide the ever-recognizable grille, though the camouflaged parts only partially obscure what we expect to be a more aggressive bumper for better air flow. Carbon fiber parts are also expected, while the rear end will likely get a diffuser and spoiler, also made in composite material for weight-saving.
Most Likely To Debut This Year
BMW failed to disclose any launch date for its blazing wagon, though previous reports point to an unveiling in the spring. What we can truly expect, however, is that the M3 CS Touring will be as limited as the other CS models, with production to stay within a few thousand globally. This will keep the models very desirable to Bimmer fans and collectors, but mostly to Americans who have yet to get a taste of the latest M3 wagon.
