For many folks who have a passion for all things automotive, the Ferrari F40 represents a pinnacle vehicle in the pantheon of all-time great machines. It’s the last vehicle to earn the personal stamp of approval from Enzo himself, and also part of Ferrari’s flagship series that also includes the 288 GTO, F50, Enzo, LaFerrari, and latest F80.
Being a supercar that was launched in 1987, it’s also notoriously difficult to drive, due in part to its 471-hp twin-turbocharged 2.9-liter V-8 engine’s tendency to deliver power like an on-off switch once the revs build up.
To help in this regard, Swiss firm Officine Fioravanti, which in 2021 unveiled a Ferrari Testarossa restomod, has unveiled a comprehensive handling package for the F40 dubbed Alte Prestazioni, Italian for “High Performance.”
With its latest endeavor, Officine Fioravanti aims to improve the F40’s handling characteristics while preserving the raw, exhilarating nature that has made the car an icon. The goal is to make the F40 safer, more manageable, and ultimately more enjoyable to drive. The company said it hopes that these enhancements will encourage more F40 owners to enjoy their cars on the road rather than keeping them as static garage pieces.

At the heart of the upgrades are four-way adjustable Öhlins dampers, allowing for a tailored suspension setup suited to various driving conditions. Complementing this are custom suspension arms and bearings, along with bespoke wheel hubs featuring integrated air ducts to enhance brake cooling. The braking system itself has been significantly improved with custom carbon-ceramic rotors and Brembo calipers, ensuring superior stopping power.
To further refine the driving experience, Officine Fioravanti has developed its own close-ratio steering rack with hydraulic power assistance, providing greater precision and responsiveness. Additionally, the company has designed a bespoke ABS system.
New center-lock wheels, measuring 18 inches at the front and 19 inches at the rear, provide improved grip and stability when shod with modern Michelin Cup 2 or Pirelli Trofeo R tires. A front lift system has also been integrated, allowing drivers to navigate steep driveways and tall speed bumps with greater ease.
Pricing for the pack hasn’t been announced.
