(WSAZ) – After a long and menacing day of high windstorms (both straight line and circular), a new nighttime tornado watch has been issued for much of the WSAZ viewing area. This watch runs until 2AM, which means the storm line that crosses the region after dark will exit our wsaz.com region by 2 AM.

With severe thunderstorms ongoing across Southwestern Ohio and Northern Kentucky as of 7:30, the squall line that is housing this new wave of heavy weather times into our region after dark. That means another round of rowdy winds, hail and rain are likely.
The National Weather Service has issued a Tornado Warning for Scioto, Ohio until 8:45 p.m.

The current cold front along which these new cells are forming will pass bodily into mountainous West Virginia after midnight. Only then will the air cool down and the warm source of energy for these storms be tapped out. So, a fresh batch of crawls are coming across your TV screen with new storm, even tornado warnings possible between 8 p.m. and 2 a.m.
