About 318,000 civilians remain in Donetsk region, and mandatory evacuation in the region continues.
This was announced at an online briefing by Dmytro Petlin, head of the department of operational and emergency service, communication, warning and public information of the Department for Civil Protection, Mobilization and Defense of the Donetsk Regional Military Administration, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.
“The evacuation of civilians from the territory of the region continues. Since the beginning of these measures, more than 1 million 177 thousand civilians have been evacuated from the territory of the region by the authorities of all levels, volunteer groups, volunteers and independently. Of these, 187,000 are children and more than 46 thousand are disabled…. And as of now, about 318,000 people remain on the territory of Donetsk region controlled by the Ukrainian authorities,” Petlin said.
He reminded that the mandatory evacuation of civilians has been underway in the government-controlled territory of Donetsk Oblast since August 2, 2022, according to Cabinet of Ministers’ Decree No. 679.
Petlin also added that during this time of evacuation, a total of about 243,000 people have returned to their places of residence and evacuated again.
As reported, as of November 27, 321,000 civilians remained in the Donetsk region controlled by Ukraine.
As of December 4, 126 children remained in 11 settlements of Donetsk region where the forced evacuation of families with children continues.
