ChromeOS and a low price make this great for students and families.
Acer’s new Chromebook Plus 514 is ready for families and students looking for a ChromeOS-powered laptop for an affordable price.
It’s got an Intel Core i3-N05 processor, and Acer promises a remarkable 11-hour battery life and a full HD webcam (with a little privacy shutter) and 1080p display. The base model comes with the i3, 8GB of RAM, and 512GB SSD. You can likely find it at Costco by next week, and definitely in the “first few days of May.” It includes Intel UHD Graphics, two USB Type-C ports that support DisplayPort and USB charging, two USB Type-A ports, and a MicroSD card reader.
“The new Acer Chromebook Plus 514 delivers the sought-after combination of a portable design, 14-inch Full HD display and performance-minded technology that lets users get the most out of exciting capabilities offered with Chromebook Plus,” said Acer’s James Lin, General Manager, Notebooks, in a press release. “Students, businesses, families, and individuals need to be more productive, connected, and empowered than ever, and can achieve this using Acer Chromebook Plus devices.”
This new laptop fits right into Acer’s Chromebook lineup, including other Plus and Spin models, giving you many options based on your needs or budget. The new Plus 514 promises to have enough power to run apps like Adobe Photoshop and even Adobe Firefly for AI-generated images.
