Giraffe populations are in trouble — and the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service on Wednesday proposed listing three subspecies of the tall animals as endangered and two species as threatened under the Endangered Species Act.Their populations have been declining because of poaching, habitat loss and climate change, officials said. While giraffes are not native to the U.S., listing them under the act would still provide protections to giraffe populations. Mazda has issued multiple recalls for it’s most recent larger SUVs, the two-row CX-70 and the three-row CX-90. The recalls include both gas-only powered vehicles and hybrids, and will be fixed with free software updates at a Mazda dealership. Some of the vehicles will need multiple updates to cover the three possible problems, some of which could cause safety issues including a loss of drive. Gavin Newsom on Veterans Day pardoned five former members of the military and is seeking one posthumous clemency grant for another for convictions that include robbery, drug dealing and grand theft.
