Tokyo — Japanese Princess Yuriko, the wife of wartime Emperor Hirohito’s brother and the oldest member of the imperial family, has died after her health deteriorated recently, palace officials said. Yuriko died Friday at the age of 101 in a Tokyo hospital, the Imperial Household Agency said. It did not announce the cause of death. Born in 1923 as an aristocrat, Yuriko married at age 18 to Prince Mikasa, the younger brother of Hirohito and the great-uncle of current Emperor Naruhito, months before the start of World War II. She has recounted living in a shelter with her husband and their…

There is a proper sedan version of the new A5 coming, though only for China, where it will be…

Senate Appropriations Committee Chair Patty Murray (D-Wash.) spoke out on President-elect Trump’s recent decision to tap environmental lawyer Robert F. Kennedy Jr. to lead the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), calling the former presidential candidate a “fringe conspiracy theorist.” Murray released a statement Friday morning in response to the appointment, citing Kennedy’s history as an anti-vaccine advocate to back up her criticism. “There is no telling how far a fringe conspiracy theorist like RFK Jr. could set back America in terms of public health, reproductive rights, research and innovation, and so much else,” she said in the statement. “The consequences here are…

Johannesburg — It’s often called the forgotten conflict, but the civil war that has torn Sudan apart for 19 months is fueling the world’s biggest humanitarian crisis. In just over a year and a half, 13 million people have been displaced from their homes. At least one overcrowded camp for displaced civilians is already dealing with famine, while other parts of the country are suffering though famine-like conditions.Outbreaks of dengue fever, malaria, cholera and measles are hitting children the hardest, with the collapse of the education system also keeping roughly 90% of Sudan’s kids out of school.Fighting broke out in April…
According to Companies House data, Reap Design Ltd was founded in 2014, but only over the past three or four years has the Reap Bikes brand began to establish itself in the road bike space. Owned by seasoned Ironman triathlete Martin Meir and run alongside his sons, the brand boasts the financial backing of British Olympians Ed Clancy and Jason Kenny, and has garnered itself a reputation for its risk-taking, boundary-pushing innovation. Its existing v-shaped monocoque Vulcan triathlon bike was already evidence of that, but in the halls of the Truman Brewery this weekend at Rouleur Live show, the brand had a…
A startup company based in Modena, Italy, came out of the woodwork this week with a teaser video promising something new on May 22, 2025. The company is called Giamaro, and its video doesn’t show anything car related apart from confirming a quad-turbocharged V-12. It also states that a “formidable power is coming,” likely referring to the engine’s output. Given the company’s base in Modena, often nicknamed Italy’s supercar valley, due to the proximity of Italian performance houses such as Ferrari, Lamborghini, Maserati, and Pagani, it’s safe to assume Giamaro’s engine will end up in a supercar of some sorts,…

In a sea of electric crossovers and SUVs, a good ol’ sedan is a nice change of pace. However, there’s still a problem. Nissan’s new EV will be made in China exclusively for the local market. The N7 was developed with local partner Dongfeng through their 50:50 joint venture. If it weren’t for the badge, I’d honestly be hard-pressed to identify this car as a Nissan. If the N7 already looks familiar, Dongfeng Nissan previewed the production model in April with the Epoch concept. It’s a sleek sedan that ticks all the design trend boxes in 2024: split headlights, a…
