Toyota has been working on a new research and development center since April 2018 in Shimoyama where it opened a 3.3-mile version of the Nürburgring track a year later. Photo: Kevin Winter/Getty Images In an era where Temu has enough cheddar to buy multiple Super Bowl ads, Cher is teaching the next generation at the iHeartRadio Music Awards in Los Angeles that it is very cool to keep things for long periods of time— well, as long as they’re not falling apart after a few uses. Introduced by her pal Meryl Streep and serenaded by Jennifer Hudson (singing “If I Could Turn Back Time”), Cher accepted the Icon Award the only way she knows how: by belting out “Believe” in a familiar outfit. Climate change may be making it harder to know exactly what time it is. The rapid melting of the ice sheets atop Greenland and Antarctica, as measured by satellite-based gravitational measurements, is shifting more mass toward Earth’s waistline. And that extra bulge is slowing the planet’s rotation, geophysicist Duncan Agnew reports online March 27 in Nature. That climate change–driven mass shift is throwing a new wrench into international timekeeping standards. The internationally agreed-upon coordinated universal time, or UTC, is set by atomic clocks, but that time is regularly adjusted to match Earth’s actual spin. Earth’s rotation isn’t always smooth sailing…

Depending on the data source, we may already have entered an epoch in which a majority is not married. “Our civilization is in the midst of an epochal shift, a shift away from marriage,” Brad Wilcox, a sociologist who directs the National Marriage Project at the…

I thought we should come here and accept this award together.” Speaking to her longevity, Cher said she felt “lucky to have people that have…

A surprise arrest after a 13-year investigation shocked the true crime community — and relieved New Yorkers. He murdered at least four people, likely 10, and possibly more. His victims, which included an unidentified toddler and her mother, were left discarded like trash along a short stretch of beach highway. Over the last decade, his specter became a pop culture boogeyman. And now, authorities may have finally caught LISK: the Long Island serial killer. On July 14, police on Long Island swarmed tiny Massapequa Park, a small village located about 20 minutes from Jones Beach Island, the long, narrow strip…
