Anthony Richardson of Colts, UF, may face Dolphins Sunday
The Miami Dolphins (2-3) return from their bye week looking to move to .500 on the regular season on Sunday in a visit to the Indianapolis Colts (3-3).
Tyler Huntley is once again expected to start under center in lieu of injured franchise quarterback Tua Tagovailoa, who is reportedly expected to return this regular season. Tagovailoa is far from the only Dolphins player with injury concerns. Running back De’Von Achane, wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. and safety Jevon Holland are all battling injuries.
The Colts will also be without a star player as running back Jonathan Taylor will not play for the third straight game due to an ankle injury. Quarterback Anthony Richardson, the No. 4 pick in the 2023 NFL Draft out of Florida, is expected to play after missing the past two games with an oblique injury. Even if he can’t go, backup QB Joe Flacco has proven more than capable, throwing for 716 yards and seven touchdowns with just one interception over the past three weeks.

Dolphins vs Colts predictions
Joe Schad, Palm Beach Post: Colts 20, Dolphins 19
“This is a game the Dolphins have a chance to win, and falling by one point would be crushing. This game will undoubtedly be decided in the final five minutes. And it seems very unlikely to be high-scoring. Both teams figure to pound the rock. This one comes down to one critical mistake, perhaps on special teams, where Miami has been terrible.”
Hal Habib, Palm Beach Post: Colts 19, Dolphins 13
“The bye week probably will do the Dolphins some good in kick-starting their season — but not this weekend. The Colts will have their QB back (Anthony Richardson) but the Dolphins will not. I also have a hard time picking Miami on the road because this team doesn’t travel well.”
Joel A. Erickson, Indianapolis Star: Colts 24, Dolphins 14
“Miami has a lot of firepower at the skill positions, but deficiencies at quarterback and on the offensive line have slowed Mike McDaniel’s offense, and the return of Anthony Richardson meets a Miami pass rush that has lost almost every significant contributor this season.”
Brent Sobleski, Bleacher Report: Dolphins 23, Colts 20
“The matchups … favor Miami, especially with Mike McDaniel’s squad having two weeks to prepare for this contest. Raheem Mostert and rookie Jaylen Wright should find lanes against the league’s 31st-ranked run defense, while McDaniel can manufacture touches for wide receivers Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle against arguably the league’s least talented secondary.”
