Formula One drivers, regardless of their status in the sport, are attracted to fast cars of all sorts. For example, even before securing a Red Bull seat for 2025 earlier this month, Liam Lawson had been building a heavily modified Toyota GR Supra. On the opposite end of the scale, drivers who have years of experience in the sport tend to have accrued a fair bit more cash and cars, like Lewis Hamilton, who can afford to commission a Pagani. But not all professional racers are obsessed with the flashiest cars; some want purity of purpose, and former F1 driver Romain Grosjean is among them. We spoke to him just before he helped Praga hand over the first Bohema to its new owner a couple of weeks ago, and he revealed his ideal spec for the Czech hypercar.

What Romain Grosjean’s Praga Bohema Could Look Like
Praga may be small, but it’s professional, and not even a hellish trip to the Netherlands in torrential rain would stop Romain Grosjean and Mark Harrison (Managing Director of Praga Cars UK) from arriving early to meet the first owner of a new breed of hypercar. Since they had some time to kill, they allowed us a few minutes to ask Grosjean about his thoughts on the car, where it might shine brightest, and what his dream Bohema would look like if he ordered one.

Before replying, he looked away with a smile (potentially indicating that he’s considering doing just that, or has already – either way, we’ll let you know if and when that build is completed), and then, after claiming he doesn’t have much space in his garage, said:
“I think lots of carbon, some blue, and maybe gold wheels, some gold accents… Something racy and simple.”
Blue is the color France tends to use in racing (Romain is French-Swiss), and gold is often seen in motorsport (including the Lotus F1 car he returned to the sport in 12 years ago), too, so it makes sense. Interestingly, one of the cars Grosjean tested on track has a very similar spec, with black wheels in front of gold calipers… Grosjean has a modest car collection, but that’s because, as mentioned in an interview with evo earlier this year, for him, “cars should be driven. I hate to see them just parked up in the garage.” We concur, Romain.

The Best Tracks For The Bohema In America, Britain, And France
We naturally asked the current IndyCar racer where the Bohema would be best enjoyed, although we did touch on similar subjects in a previous interview with Mark Harrison. He noted that it’s certainly quiet and comfortable enough to be enjoyed on the road, but when things get serious, it’s the truly exciting tracks where Grosjean thinks the Bohema will stand out:
“I think Laguna Seca would be fantastic. In Europe… Silverstone may be surprisingly good – in the UK, Silverstone or Brands Hatch. In France, Magny-Cours.”
– Romain Grosjean, Praga Bohema Ambassador and Test Driver
We hope to see the Bohema tearing up Laguna Seca or being shown off at Monterey Car Week soon; Praga has confirmed that a couple dozen are going to American buyers and that US production should be complete by 2026, with all of the $1.4 million cars delivered by 2028. If you want one, you’d better act fast.
