- Lamborghini’s SC63 LMDh will only contest IMSA’s five-race Michelin Endurance Cup in 2025
- Lamborghini will not participate in the 2025 season of the FIA World Endurance Championship
- A return to the World Endurance Championship in future seasons has not been announced
After announcing in November plans to sit out the 2025 season of the FIA World Endurance Championship, Lamborghini has now revealed it will run a limited program in the 2025 season of the IMSA SportsCar Championship.
In a statement released on Dec. 24, Lamborghini said it will enter a single factory-supported SC63 LMDh race car in the premier GTP class of the SportsCar Championship, but only in the Michelin Endurance Cup.
The Michelin Endurance Cup is a sub-series of the IMSA SportsCar Championship, which includes only the five premier races of the parent series, specifically the races at Daytona, Sebring, Watkins Glen, Indianapolis, and Road Atlanta.
Confirmed drivers for the SC63 in 2025 include Mirko Bortolotti, Romain Grosjean, Daniil Kvyat, and Edoardo Mortara. Lamborghini said the drivers for each race will be announced on a race-by-race basis.

Lamborghini will also field a trio of Huracán GT3 race cars in the IMSA SportsCar Championship’s GTD class designed for race cars based on production models. The Huracáns will be fielded in partnership with Pfaff Motorsports, Wayne Taylor Racing, and Forte Racing.
Lamborghini only started racing with the SC63 in 2024 and competed with it in both the IMSA SportsCar Championship and FIA World Endurance Championship, together with the Huracán GT3. However, the automaker announced on Nov. 22 that it will put its World Endurance Championship program on hold in 2025, due to the series’ new requirement that at least two cars are required in the premier Hypercar class, which Lamborghini said did not align with its current strategy.
Lamborghini has not indicated when, or if, it plans to return to the WEC with its SC63. It also hasn’t said when it plans to return to the LMGT3 class, which is similar to IMSA’s GTD class. However, a return to the LMGT3 class next year is possible, when Lamborghini is expected to introduce its new GT3 race car based on the latest Temerario supercar.
