This browser takes advantage of some iOS features and offers a true full-screen browsing option.
There are plenty of mobile browser out there to choose from, but this newest one from Opera tries to capitalize on the iOS browsing experience.
In a press release sent to Lifewire, Opera announced on Tuesday, the release of the new Opera One for iOS web browser. The new browser, which Opera calls a “flagship product” has fully-enabled Aria AI, which can provide up-to-date web results, information retrieval, text and code generations, and AI chat. That also includes the ability to generate images using Google’s Imagen2 image generator, and allows for voice input.
In addition to adding Aria AI, the new browser features a full-screen mobile interface with three navigation styles: Standard Navigation, Fact Action Button, and Bottom Search. You can decide which style works best for you. The search features also include predictive chips that can help you type search terms with fewer taps, and you can use the iOS swipe functionality to swipe down to activate search.
On the display side, Opera One for iOS can show you the element of the browser you’re using and hide everything else. So, if you’re scrolling a web page, the address bar and other navigation menus will disappear, so you get a truly full-screen browsing experience. And when your top and bottom navigation bars are visible, they’ll take on the hue of the website that you’re visiting.
Opera One for iOS also replaces your old news feed, replacing it with a start page carousel that includes news, live scores, and product tips.
The new browser also has a built-in ad-blocker and a free VPN, and Opera assures additional new features, and improvements are coming “in the months ahead.” For now, though, you can download the Opera One Browser for iOS from the App Store starting today.
