These new e-bikes look stylish, pack a lot of power, and offer a new selectable pedal assist system.
Pedego announced on Tuesday three new models in its electric bike lineup, the Moto, Cargo, and Fat Tire Trike, all set to take you where you want to go with style.
The Moto dual sport e-bike has comfort in mind with front and rear suspension, while the Cargo aims for more of a sport utility look and feel. The latter is the one you want to transport your kids, pets and gear and still have plenty of power. The Fat Tire Trike is exactly that—a solid three-wheel fat tire e-bike with a sweet little cargo carrier in the back for stability and a cool look.
“This is officially the next generation of electric bicycles,” said Pedego CEO Brian Stech in a statement. “Built to exceed the industry’s highest standards, each bike is outfitted with cutting-edge technology available only to Pedego customers, offering riders industry-leading safety, increased range, numerous customization options, and ultimately a superior riding experience for all.”
The e-bikes are all available today at Pedego stores or online. The Moto and Cargo will both run you $3,995, while the Fat Tire Trike has two configurations. The 10.5Ah Trike is available for $3,495 while the 17.5Ah Trike retails for $3,995.
All three models are certified to the highest UL2849 and UL2271 safety standards for electrical systems on e-bikes, with heat-absorbing resin in the batteries to limit overheating (and spread the heat more evenly if it does). This resin is also water resistant and helps cushion any impact on the battery.
The new Pedego e-bikes include headlights with high and low beams and integrated turn signals, along with a radiant tail light to keep riders safer. They all come with an LCD screen with an ambient light sensor to keep it visible even in sunlight, and a USB-C port to charge your phone or other accessories on the go.
Finally, Pedego uses special pedaling technology that they call Pedalsense. This lets you choose between two customized pedal assist modes, Cruise and Torque Assist. The former will match your pedaling speed for a nice smooth ride, while the latter will just boost your power when needed, which will save on battery power and give you more of a workout.
