The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has endorsed a decision to expand the capacity of Izmail Port, Reni Port and Ust-Dunaisk Port, namely to increase the safety of navigation in the Danube.
The relevant statement was made by Ukrainian Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal on Telegram, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.
“Today, at a meeting of Government, we endorsed a decision to increase the capacity of Izmail Port, Reni Port and Ust-Dunaisk Port. This will also allow us to increase the safety of navigation in the Danube, in particular the control and maintenance of declared depths,” Shmyhal wrote.
According to Shmyhal, over the past six months, the cargo turnover of the aforementioned ports has increased by more than 50 times, from 30,000 tonnes per month to 1.7 million tonnes. Ukraine is working to further increase the capacity of Izmail Port, Reni Port and Ust-Dunaisk Port.
A reminder that, on November 9, 2022, three ships loaded with Ukrainian-produced vegetable oil left Odesa Port, Chornomorsk Port and Pivdennyi Port as part of the ‘grain initiative’.
