UPDATE 4/4: The problems with the PlayStation Network did not last long at all. According to Sony, PSN services have all been fully restored, with the PSN Status page updated accordingly.
Original story follows.
PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4 gamers may be experiencing some difficulty playing games online right now, as PSN is currently down. All online services go down occasionally, but luckily for PlayStation fans, PSN downtimes are typically not all that long.
Last month, PSN went down for a couple of hours, with users unable to play online games or access any of the platform’s other online features. Now it seems a similar problem is happening right now, with various users reporting issues connecting to PlayStation Network. It’s unclear exactly how widespread these problems are, so there may be some individuals that are able to log in and play normally, but things are bad enough that Sony has acknowledged it on the official PlayStation Network status page.
