An affordable smart TV that blends right into the art on your wall? Yes, please!
TVs that can blend right into their surroundings are in high demand, and Roku’s new line makes it much more affordable to get the aesthetic.
According to a company press release, Roku’s new Pro Series TVs, first announced at CES 2024, are now available. These include 55-, 65-, and 70-inch TVs that offer a host of features similar to what you’ll find on the more expensive The Frame line from Samsung.
Roku Pro Series TVs feature mini-LED backlighting, a 4K QLED 120Hz panel display with HDR10+ and Dolby Vision IQTM, and Roku Soundstage Audio side-firing speakers. Roku says the side-firing speakers provide “rich spatial effects and deep bass.” The TVs also have 4 HDMI inputs, work with Apple HomeKit, Amazon Alexa, and Google Assistant, and include several featured streaming service apps already installed.
In addition to releasing the new Pro Series TV line, Roku is also rolling out updates to Roku OS, and introducing OS 13. It’s the new operating system that makes Roku Pro Series TVs a solid competitor for The Frame. The most interesting new feature arriving with OS 13 (which appears to be pre-installed on the new Pro Series TVs) is BackGround.
This option allows you to display art on your TV from an installed gallery with several categories to choose from. Roku says it will be preinstalled on all Roku-branded TVs purchased in the spring of 2024 or later.
Another important update is Roku Smart Picture, which automatically adjusts your picture settings based on the type of programming you’re consuming. Additional updates are also included and will apply to all “supported devices”
The New Roku Pro Series TVs are available to purchase from Best Buy and other authorized retailers. The 55-inch version will cost you $900, the 65-inch TV runs $1200, and the 75-inch version is $1700. Also available as part of this line are a Slim Profile Roku Wall Mount ($100) and the Roku Voice Remote Pro (2nd Edition) ($30). The Roku Voice Remote Pro (2nd Edition) is included with your purchase of a Roku Pro Series TV.
