The Women’s Tennis Organization tournament with a prize pool of more than USD 3.654 million will be held in Doha, Qatar, on February 9-15.
Marta Kostyuk, Elina Svitolina, Angelina Kalinina, and Diana Yastremska will compete in the singles, Ukrinform reports.
Kostyuk will start the tournament against Zeynep Sonmez (Turkey), Svitolina will face Czech Marketa Vondroushova, Kalinina will meet Slovakian Rebecca Sramkova, and Yastremska will play against American Peyton Stearns.
In the doubles, Lyudmyla Kichenok will play the tournament with a new partner, American Sophia Kenin. The tennis players received the fourth seed and will start the competition in the second round, where they will meet the winners of the match Beatriz Haddad Maia (Brazil) / Laura Siegemund (Germany) with the “neutral” Kateryna Aleksandrova and Lyudmyla Samsonova.
In Doha, Nadiya Kichenok will play against Canadian tennis player Leylah Fernandez, with whom she played two tournaments in Australia. In the first round, they will face the eighth-seeded pair of Aisha Muhammad (USA) / Demi Schuurs (Netherlands).
Marta Kostiuk will play in Doha together with Romanian Elena-Gabriela Ruse. They will play their opening match against the fifth-seeded Zhang Haoqing (Chinese Taipei) and the “neutral” Veronika Kudermetova.
