Ram has released a short teaser previewing a new truck that it will reveal on April 25. The 15-second clip shows a burly Ram 2500 Rebel towing a mysterious vehicle that the manufacturer describes as “a special package.” Like the very best teasers, Ram hasn’t divulged much information. “You won’t want to miss this delivery,” reads the post, suggesting something truly exciting is coming. So, what could it be? There’s a strong possibility the mystery truck is the upcoming Ram RHO, the six-cylinder replacement for the beloved TRX, which has been discontinued.
When the 2025 1500 was unveiled last year, Ram confirmed that the V8 would be killed in favor of more efficient inline-sixes. This includes the RHO, which company CEO Tim Kuniskis said will be identical to the TRX, save for the supercharged Hellcat V8.
High Output Engine
So far, we know the RHO will have the High Output version of the turbocharged Hurricane six-cylinder motor, which means we can expect at least 510-540 horsepower – more than the V6-powered F-150 Raptor can offer. However, as a range-topping truck, it’s possible that Ram will extract even more power to distance the RHO from the regular 1500 with the High Output motor. Whatever the final figure, the RHO will stand out from its siblings in terms of both performance and aesthetics.

Ram finally has a challenger to the standard F-150 Raptor, but it’s keeping the details under wraps.
Kuniskis also suggested that the suspension will receive an update, which is promising. We can see a tall ride height, big wheels, and a roll bar. While Mopar fans will mourn the loss of the V8, Ram will need to serve up something just as desirable, if not cheaper, to persuade consumers to drop two cylinders and the intoxicating exhaust note.
Big Shoes To Fill
Arguably one of the most desirable trucks in recent history, the TRX has gained fans not just in America but all over the world. The charm of a V8 is difficult to compete with, and it is a big part of the reason why people adore the TRX, despite the eye-widening gas mileage figures. Its very existence prompted Ford to shoehorn a V8 into the F-150 Raptor R, which chugged along happily with a turbocharged V6 until the TRX hit the scene. The Raptor R is a formidable TRX rival but also costs considerably more than its Ram-badged competitor.
Speaking of pricing, we wouldn’t be surprised if the RHO is priced around the $80,000-$85,000 mark. Perhaps that will take the sting out of not having a V8, as F-150 Raptor buyers are happy to fork out $78,000 for the V6 model. We won’t have to wait much longer to learn more about the RHO, with the reveal taking place on April 25.
