For those who choose to save on outright cash and don’t want to deal with maintenance costs, leasing is the more viable option. You have lower monthly payments than financing the car, plus, with EVs, you don’t have to deal with costly battery replacements. However, in the case of the Tesla Cybertruck, you’d have to shell out nearly a grand per month, and that’s not in its most expensive configuration yet.

The Tesla website has recently opened the leasing option for the stainless steel truck, with the least expensive option listed at $999 a month. That’s for the dual-motor all-wheel drive model, with the tri-motor Cyberbeast being offered at $1,148. That monthly payment was computed with a term of 36 months and a down payment of $7,500, with an annual allowance of 10,000 miles.
Just As Expensive As The Model S And Model X
When spreading the down payment to 36 months, the effective monthly payment would be $1,207 for an electric truck with an estimated 325 miles of range. In fact, this lease offer is comparable to full-size luxury vehicles, like the BMW X7 xDrive40i, which can be had with an effective monthly payment of $1,190.

More Cybertruck promises are being broken. Is anybody even surprised?
The Cybertruck’s lease pricing is certainly not cheap, leveling with the flagship Model S and Model X with the same down payment, term, and mileage allowance. This can even go up to $1,255 per month if you adjust the allowance to 15,000 miles and the term to two years. But wait until you see how it fares compared to its electric truck rivals in the market.
Versus Ford F-150 Lightning And Rivian R1T Lease Offers
The extent of the Cybertruck’s expensive lease offer is highlighted when checking out the best deals for some of its rivals in the market: the Ford F-150 Lightning and Rivian R1T. The Blue Oval electric truck in XLT Standard Range trim can be had with a $550 monthly payment for a 36-month term offer. Beyond the discounts, Ford’s lease deal this month doesn’t have a down payment, so that’s $550 due at signing. Of note, the dual-motor Cybertruck has more driving range than the F-150 Lightning XLT Standard Range trim (325 versus 230 miles), among other differences, so that’s one thing to consider.

Meanwhile, the best Rivian R1T lease deal we’ve seen on the R1 Shop is a Dual AWD Standard trim with a large battery (329 miles). Customers can drive it home for $862 per month with the same 36-month term, computed with a 10,000-mile annual allowance and a $7,000 down payment/trade-in value. That effectively computes to $1,056 per month, which is still cheaper than the Cybertruck’s $1,207, not to mention Rivian’s lucrative deal for current ICE vehicle owners.
