After benching Quinn Ewers in the first half, the Texas Longhorns have turned back to their starting quarterback.
Ewers led the Texas offense onto the field for its first possession of the second half of a game against Georgia. Texas trailed 23-0 at halftime, but the Longhorns opened the second half with the football at its 48-yard line. Ewers then directed a scoring drive that ended with the quarterback connecting with receiver Isaiah Bond for a touchdown and subsequent two-point conversion.
During the first half at Royal-Memorial Stadium, Ewers threw for just 17 yards and committed two turnovers over six drives. The third-year starter completed six of his 12 passes.
Backup quarterback Arch Manning didn’t fare much better after he replaced Ewers. Over two possessions, Manning went 3-for-6 for 19 yards, and he took off on a 21-yard run. Manning also lost a fumble.
