The BMW M8 coupe is headed out to pasture, but the people at G-Power are sending it out with a bang. The big two-door grand tourer already has 617 horsepower in Competition trim, but if that’s still not enough, perhaps the 900-horsepower G8M Hurricane RR is more to your liking. Or if a two-door car just isn’t practical, you can have prolific power in the four-door M8 Gran Coupe.
Pulling that kind of power from BMW’s twin-turbocharged 4.4-liter V-8 isn’t just a case of turning up the boost. The German-based tuner completely rebuilds the bottom end with forged pistons and connecting rods. Curiously, the turbochargers aren’t swapped for larger units but instead rebuilt with bigger turbine wheels in modified housings. G-Power also upgrades the intercoolers and builds a new exhaust system. All the work is done in-house, and with a computer reflash, the company claims the G8M can reach 205 miles per hour.

There’s no mention of changes to the M8’s suspension or brake systems. BMW fits 15.7-inch front brakes with a carbon ceramic option from the factory, but G-Power bolts up new 21-inch wheels. Also created in-house, they wear 285/30-series tires in front with wider 295s at the back. The M8’s eight-speed automatic transmission and xDrive all-wheel-drive system are untouched, and presumably, capable of withstanding the engine 774 pound-feet of torque.
Whether opting for a two-door M8 or the four-door Gran Coupe, G-Power plugs in a body kit that adds an appropriately big rear wing, carbon-fiber grille, a new hood, and other “bodywork components” that are available upon request.
So, how much does this cost? G-Power doesn’t list pricing and being based in Europe, getting a modded car in the US might be a problem. Considering the M8 Gran Coupe starts at $140,000 in the States, it’s safe to assume a 900-hp version is very expensive.
