In 2018, the late great Ken Block introduced one of the most unique and badass Ford F-150 trucks ever built, ahead of Hoonigan’s GymkhanaTEN. Based on the 1977 F-150 as a tribute to his late father’s truck, the custom drift truck was affectionately called “Hoonitruck” – and it’s ready for a new home via Barrett-Jackson’s Scottsdale Auction, happening by the end of this month.

“Ken took me for a wild ride in one of his all-wheel-drive vehicles in Scottsdale a few years ago before we auctioned it for charity. It is one of my all-time favorite auction moments. The ‘Hoonitruck’ celebrates Ken’s unrivaled spirit throughout his career as a world-class rally driver and professional drifter,” said Craig Jackson, chairman and CEO of Barrett-Jackson.
One Of the Coolest Custom Truks Ever Built
Known for the Mustang Hoonicorn and other legendary drift cars, Block’s love for trucks led him to create the Hoonitruck. It was built by the Hoonigan team in collaboration with Detroit Speed, which handled its chassis, bodywork, and fabrication. The custom-tuned V6 EcoBoost engine was taken straight from the Ford GT Le Mans development program, making up to 914 horsepower and 702 lb-ft of torque.

Ken Block’s Brainchild, Hoonigan, Files For Bankruptcy
The late Ken Block’s company was acquired back in 2021 and now needs to restructure and eradicate $1.2 billion in debt.
One of the cool features of the Hoonitruck includes a 3D-printed aluminum intakeby Ford Performance, a Sadev six-speed gearbox, and custom forged beadlock wheels wrapped in Toyo tires. Apart from GymkhanaTEN, the Hoonitruck also starred in Climbkhana TWO, wherein Block climbed up China’s 5,000-foot-high Tianmen Mountain highway.
No Reserve But Interested Buyers Will Need Serious Cash
The Hoonitruck will hit the auction block with no reserve via lot #1365. The world-renowned auction house didn’t disclose any estimates for Block’s prized drift truck, though we’d be remiss not to mention that it had a $1.1 million price tag when Block put it up for sale in 2021. We won’t be surprised if it gets a bid higher than its previous price tag, considering that it took around $1.5 million to build the one-off creation.

An impressive showing, especially for a team that raced the Baja 1000 for the first time.
The auction coincides with the second-year anniversary of Ken Block’s death, who departed us on January 2, 2023, due to a snowmobile accident. Block was pronounced dead at the scene then after he encountered a steep slope and the vehicle suddenly upended and landed directly on top of him.
