Halloween is right around the corner, and horror fiction podcasts are great entertainment to get you into a spooky mood.
Clowns. What is it about clowns that is just plain creepy? I can’t really answer that question, but I’ll tell you, if you’re looking for something to creep you out, clowns will usually do it, and I found a podcast that fits the bill.
To be fair, Full Body Chills isn’t all about clowns. No, there are plenty of ghosts and ghouls and just plain psychological scares in the 6 seasons of this podcast. Each of the 116+ episodes of this horror fiction podcast is like a chilling campfire story but with some seriously creepy audio. Really, you want to listen to this one with headphones on, but you might also want to make sure you’re not alone.
One of the most frightening episodes I’ve listened to in Season 6 is Circus: Collector. It’s not scary in the “run screaming” way, more in the subtle “this is not completely beyond the realm of possibility way.” And it’s set in a storage unit, which is a place I always feel very uneasy, anyway.
New episodes of Full Body Chills are released every other day through the month of October, and then a few episodes usually come out in December (because who doesn’t love a holiday scare fest?). The podcast is an Audio Chuck production, and if you’re at all familiar with Audio Chuck, then you know the company excels at horrifying facts and stories. From their Anatomy of a Murder and Park Predators to Crime Junkie, Crime Junkie AF, and So Supernatural, it’s obvious the producers love the stuff that makes the hairs on the back of your neck stand up.
Don’t get me wrong—this isn’t the scariest podcast I’ve ever listened to. This one is fun-scary. The podcast that gave me nightmares was True Crime Bullsh**. This one isn’t a horror fiction podcast. It’s a true crime investigative journey into the missing victims of serial killer Israel Keyes and includes clips of some of the interviews that were done with him. If that doesn’t give you nightmares, you’re a stronger person than I am.
