World of Warcraft reveals a staggering number of mounts that will be able to use Dynamic Flying, and explains how the new system will work.
World of Warcraft just revealed that over 440 mounts will be able to use Dynamic Flying in The War Within. With hundreds of new options to take to the skies, and the ability to unlock flying earlier and easier than ever before, getting around World of Warcraft will never be the same again.
The War Within, the tenth expansion in World of Warcraft’s history, is currently in development, adding new zones to explore, items to collect, and features to enjoy. However, one of the most exciting updates in this World of Warcraft expansion is Dynamic Flying – the new version of Dragonriding that is being simplified and expanded to more mounts.
Now, World of Warcraft has shown just how many flying mounts will be able to use Dynamic Flying in The War Within. It shared a preview video showcasing some of the over 440 mounts, spread out across over 200 models featuring more than 50 different shapes and sizes, that will be able to use Dynamic Flying, as well as how they are evolving from their Dragonriding predecessors. According to the list compiled by Wowhead, there are currently 464 mounts that will be able to use Dynamic Flying, including a couple dozen new ones from The War Within, though this list could expand even more before it launches.
Dynamic Flying in World of Warcraft: The War Within
- Over 440 existing flying mounts spread across more than 200 models and 50 different shapes and sizes are becoming Dynamic Flying mounts in The War Within.
- Characters unlock Dynamic Flying at level 15, gaining more talents through level 70, when every ability from WoW: Dragonflight‘s Dragonriding will be unlocked automatically.
- All Dynamic Flying mounts can switch to Standard Flying in all old zones, and in Khaz’Algar after exploring all the new areas.
Most flying mounts with wings, including dragons, gryphons, wyverns, and bats were unsurprisingly included, including favorites like Ashes of Al’ar, Invincible, and the Sandstone Drake. However, many wingless mounts, including most mech suits, cloud serpents, flying horses, void worms, and even Mimiron’s Head can use Dynamic Flying, letting players speed through the sky on some of the rarest rides in World of Warcraft.
Were that not exciting enough, Dynamic Flying is also going to be unlocked much faster in The War Within. All players will gain the ability to use Dynamic Flying as early as level 15, with Dracthyr unlocking it even faster. Characters will automatically gain the old Dragonriding talents as they level, without the need to collect glyphs. These new changes and the Dynamic Flying system as a whole go live with The War Within pre-patch, but fans lucky enough to be invited to the World of Warcraft expansion’s alpha can try it out even earlier.
