Ukrainian Katarina Zavatska has overcome the first round of qualifying at the Women’s Tennis Association (WTA) Prague Open clay tournament in Prague (Czech Republic) with a prize pool of USD 267,082.
Zavatska, seeded No. 3, defeated Czech Amelie Smejkalova 6-1, 6-4, Ukrinform reports.
Zavatska will play for a place in the main draw against Swiss Conny Perrin, who defeated Czech Tereza Martincova 6-0, 7-5.
The Prague Open tournament will run until 26 July.
