Students and teachers are about to find that education is a little easier with AI tools to help solve problems.
Secondary students and teachers face all kinds of problems daily, whether they’re time constraints or the need for a little extra help on assignments. Pearson’s new AI tools aim to make learning (and teaching) a little easier.
In a press release on Monday, Pearson announced the expansion of its AI learning tools. That expansion includes three new tools being added to the Pearson+ Channels service: a new AI study tool, an AI tutor for specific problems, and an AI tutor to answer questions about lessons.
The AI study tool will let learners add a syllabus that can be used to generate a more personalized learning experience that follows along with the syllabus. Then there is the AI tutor to help with specific problems. This feature includes video content and practice questions to help students when they get stuck on a concept. Finally, a new AI tutor to answer questions will be available on each learning video. Students can ask the AI tutor questions about the content of the video to dig deeper or clarify points.
In addition to these student tools, Pearson is also introducing a new generative AI tool for instructors that will help them build assignments more efficiently. Pearson says the AI assignment builder will be added to 25 courses in the US in business, math, science, and nursing.
Pearson is also expanding AI for instructors to some of the high school courses in its Connections Academy for K-12 public school systems. The new features available to high school teachers will help them to design student assessments more efficiently.
“Our unique approach combines AI with our trusted content to unlock new ways to personalize learning and teaching that will help people realize the life they imagine through learning,” said Tony Prentice, Pearson’s Chief Product Officer, in the press release.
The company says these new features will be “debuting next month,” which would mean sometime in August, just in time for the new school year.
