It’s been a couple of years (2022) since Google released the original Pixel Buds Pro, but the company has finally dropped a newer version.
The New Pixel Buds Pro 2 was announced at the Made by Google event on Tuesday, and as many had hoped, they have a slightly larger battery that should mean you can get 30 hours of listening time from them (8 hours with ANC). They also ended up with a slightly new form factor that brings back the wing design (though a bit smaller), which should mean they’ll stay seated in your ears better. And, of course, there are the new colors: Wintergreen, Porcelain, Hazel, and Peony.
On the software side, as expected, there are a ton of new Gemini AI features. Gemini helps power power things like the Active Noise Cancellation and Transparency modes. It’s also powering the hands-free calling and other calling features.
Finally, as with the new Pixel Watch 3, Google added Ultra-Wideband, so you can now use the Find My Device network to locate your Buds if you misplace them.
The new Buds Pro 2 are available to preorder today, with shipping expected to start on September 27, and you’ll pay $229 for them.
