The Trendiest Games and Consoles to Gift This Year

If you’re wondering what to get for the gamer on your list this holiday season, Futbin.com has done the research and come up with its answers for the most popular gaming consoles and games, according to Google searches over the past 12 months.

Not only is every ‘what’s the most popular’ list a little different, what takes the top spot could be determined by where you’re at, and this list is no different. According to Futbin’s findings, globally, the most searched-for console is the PlayStation 5. According to Futbin, it takes about 55 percent of the market share for gaming consoles. However, if you’re in North America, including the US, then Nintendo Switch takes the top spot (about 35 percent market share globally). It’s also the second most searched console on a global scale.

The Xbox Series X takes the third spot worldwide, followed by the PS4 and then the Xbox Series S.

Video games are also varied, depending on where you live. Baldur’s Gate is ranked the most popular game in Futbin’s study, accounting for about 35 percent of all searches globally. That’s followed closely by Resident Evil 4. Also on the list are Assassin’s Creed, Mirage, and Starfield.

Now you know (sorta). If there’s a gamer in your life, these are pretty solid options. Of course, they’ll likely differ slightly from other “top” lists out there, but that’s half the fun, right?
